The new owner has been successfully set up on the Tesla app, allowing them to monitor and adjust the system’s performance and energy production in real time.
The backup reserve has been configured, ensuring that even during an unexpected power outage, the owner has the reassurance of stored energy available to keep essential loads running.
- The Storm Watch feature has been activated. The system now continuously monitors local weather forecasts, and when a severe storm is predicted, the battery will automatically charge to full capacity.
- This provides the owner with peace of mind, ensuring that during periods of increased risk of power outages, there will be maximum energy stored in reserve.
⚡ Restoring Reliable Power for a Home-Based Therapy Practice
A couple who run online therapy sessions from their home were experiencing repeated disruptions during sensitive client meetings due to unexpected power outages. Their property already had a Tesla Powerwall and solar system installed by a previous owner, but they had no idea whether it was functioning or capable of providing backup power.
To give them the reliability they needed, they brought us in to assess the system and upgrade it for true backup capability.
🔧 What We Did
- Installed a Tesla Backup Gateway 2 to enable seamless power supply from the existing Powerwall during outages.
- Reconfigured and upgraded the electrical wiring to integrate the new gateway safely and correctly.
- Installed an earth rod and fitted the required sensors for accurate monitoring and protection.
- Tested and commissioned the full system, ensuring everything operated exactly as it should.
- Set the customers up on the Tesla App, giving them full visibility of their energy usage, battery status, and system performance.

We also reviewed and optimised the system settings, including:
- Energy reserve levels, ensuring the battery always retains enough charge for emergencies.
- Storm Watch activation, which automatically charges the battery to full when severe weather is forecast — providing reassurance that they’ll have ample stored energy when it matters most.
